and churches, the art gallery and Hill Crest Cemetery. The
Holly Springs Garden Club estimates a crowd of 1,100 visited the city

‘May Day’ honors Lessye Lee Davis The Lessye Lee Davis activity and parade committee is making preparations for the 2008 Lessye Lee Davis “May Day” festivities. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, beginning at 11 a.m. on the old M.I. campus. This
is an annual event in memory of “Mama Lessye,” who was the 4-H and
Homemakers Club advisor in Marshall County for many years. This day is

Byhalia police officers respond to burglaries, disturbances, thefts, fires The Byhalia Police Department responded to 37 calls during the past week. Chief
Gary Looney released the following report – seven alarm calls, one
motor vehicle accident, two burglaries, five disturbances, one theft,
three vehicle thefts, five escorts, one animal-related call, one
juvenile-related call, two assists, two medical assistance calls, five
fires and two miscellaneous calls. Byhalia police also made five arrests on the following charges: - Warrant, Byhalia, switched tag.
