Byhalia board reviews animal control ordinance

The Byhalia mayor and board of aldermen continued discussion on several topics during their January 3 meeting, including the animal control ordinance and the WIN Job Center.

Aldermen Daylon Cannon, Mary Ann Cooper, Mike Hamblin, Richard Minor and Joe Tunstall were present, along with Mayor Phil Malone. Department heads Gary Smoot, Gary Looney, Teresa Strickland, and attorney Adam Emerson were also in attendance. Hamblin led in prayer.

During the discussion of the animal control ordinance, Malone and several aldermen requested more time to review the proposed ordinance. Minor requested a copy of the ordinance as he was not at the previous meeting.
