Piper Richard celebrates 7th birthday

Congratulations to Renee and Greg Bolden, on the birth of their first grandson, Cohen Parker Shaw. Parker was born Wednesday, April 10, in Germantown. He weighed 8 pounds and was 19” long. His parents are Cheyenne and Brandt Shaw, his uncle is Tyler Bolden and proud great-grandmothers are Theresa Bolden Devore and Sheila Lindsey. This little love was surrounded by family welcoming him into this world. I am so thrilled for everyone on Parker’s arrival, he is just beautiful.

Every year, the Ole Miss chapter of Sigma Nu has a charity bowl football game to raise money for their philanthropy. This year, they took on the men from Sigma Chi fraternity. They sent the team from Sigma Chi packing, beating them 17-10. Having won the game, they were honored with being able to play the Ole Miss Rebels Saturday in a seven on seven game.

The Sigma Nu chapter has raised $150,000. The William Magee Center received $25,000 as did the Manning Family Foundation. Chris “Creek” Mitchell was the first Ole Miss Rebel to have the honor of wearing the 38 jersey, which belonged to Chucky Mullins. Mullins gave his all to the Rebels and was catastrophically injured playing the sport he loved on his home field. The injury left him a paraplegic. Creek was involved in an accident in 2020, which inadvertently left him paralyzed from the waist down. He was the recipient of $100,000 that the Sigma Nu Fraternity raised this year. What a fine group of young men helping where it is needed most and giving back to those who have given so much.

Erin McMinn and her mother, Jamie Shaw, recently returned from a mother/daughter trip. The duo traveled to Miami, Fla., and from there, tripped across the seven mile bridge to the Florida Keys.

Piper Richard celebrated her 7th birthday in a big way. Her family and friends accompanied her to the Donut Hutt in Collierville, Tenn., for a party full of learning the process of donut making from start to gloriuous finish. Such a fun and unique theme. Everyone had a grand time making the dough, rolling it out, cutting it and fixing the final donut product. Here’s to the happiest birthday to one of a kind. Shown in the photo are Finley Kate Clanton, Piper’s first cousin, and the birthday girl Piper Richard, rolling out their donuts.
